To listen to the what the ChristofacistRight and FunNoIslamos say we are waging a war on them, anyone got their marching orders? In my experience SecularHumanist can barely keep a website up much less a chess club

Depends on what they consider "threat". Apparently, some of them think not allowing them to force their beliefs on other people is very threatening.

I guess there are activist atheists who want religion abolished, but most of us just seem to want to be left alone and not have imaginary entities running the government.

There's a strong Christian socialist movement in the right, emboldened by the president's election and reelection. I voted for the man, and he was far better than the alternatives ... but the bad came with the good.

Personally, I think they're a greater threat to conservatism than to the nation, as a whole. Greater acceptance for gays, opposition to sodomy laws, and opposition to government-funded theodicy has led to lower election turnouts. It'll likely be a cycle: the US will again recognize the folly of religious imposition, and the fundies will go back in the closet.

Hopefully the Christian Right will retreat from American politics anyway. What our country needs is do the right thing for humanity, not their deluded version of Christ.
